KDUL U/18 cup
Kildare Town 1-8 MAFC
Kildare started strong getting on the end of some misplaced passes from Monasterevin but never threatened the goal of Big
Micheal Morrissey. It took The visitors 22 minutes to break the deadlock when Conor Mcbrien latched onto a pass on the left wing beating the Kildare defender to whip in a great cross for Adam Martin to slide at the front post after a sprint from midfield to put Mafc 1 up. That settled Mafc down and 5 minutes later Scott Lavin made it 2-0 when the Kildare keeper kicked the ball from his hands into his own players back. The ball fell to Lavin who placed
The ball into the net from 11 yards. Lavin scored again on the 41st minute to make it 3-0 at half time.
Second half Lavin kept his momentum going scoring another 2 goals on the 53rd and 56th minute. Game over for Kildare as the Mafc lads ran the show. With Charlie Cullen scoring direct from a corner on 62’ followed by jhovany ngoma striking home in his first game of the season after a bad injury in a
School sport during our preseason. Kildare
Kept trying missing a peno when Connor mc was deemed to handle the ball in the box the Kildare Player hitting the crossbar.
Monasterevin then changed their keeper with Michael Morrissey going up front and Alex Murphy going between the sticks.
Kildare finally got their goal when a bit of confusion in the box the ball went past Murphy and rolled over the line.
Morrissey almost scored after beating 2 players to drive what
Was Like a goal kick over the bar from 8 yards out. Not as clinical as his younger brother Cormac who scored for the u/18s last week while helping out. Back in goals next week for him.
Monasterevin rounded off the 8-1 win with a good finish from Aaron o Loughlin who’s has been outstanding at full back all season.
Thanks to U/17 players Eoin Ryan and Dan Geoghegan for helping out today.
