Monasterevin AFC secured an impressive 5–2 away win over Rathangan AFC in a thrilling encounter, with Nicole Moran starring as the standout performer.
The visitors made a perfect start, taking the lead inside three minutes when Moran finished clinically after good work from Colleen Rickard.
Rathangan quickly responded, with Mischa Conroy equalising in the 12th minute. Monasterevin regained the lead five minutes later through Moran again, assisted by Rebecca Broughan, before Louisa Malone restored parity for Rathangan on 22 minutes.
Monasterevin edged ahead once more just before the half-hour mark as Ciara Morrissey calmly converted a penalty.
After the break, the visitors took control, with Colleen Rickard extending the advantage in the 49th minute following a clever assist from Brianne Kaye.
Rickard sealed the 5–2 victory deep into stoppage time after a smart setup from Morrissey.
Nicole Moran was deservedly named Player of the Match for her two-goal performance. Monasterevin’s attacking play and clinical finishing proved decisive.
Despite the scoreline, Rathangan’s performance was commendable. Every player contributed with determination and heart, from a resolute defence to tireless midfield work.
Louisa Malone consistently threatened the opposition’s backline, while Kate Kav’s energy and runs kept Monasterevin under pressure.
The team’s unity, effort, and never-say-die attitude highlighted the pride and spirit within this Rathangan side.
A tough result, but a performance full of promise for Rathangan, and a deserved win for Monasterevin.
